About This Video

In this vlog, we’re celebrating a huge milestone for us — 1,000 subscribers. Seriously, thank you to everyone who’s subscribed and come along with us. With our wedding coming up next year, it feels extra special to share these moments together and celebrate the little (and big) wins as an international couple living in Perth. We head out to our go-to Korean grocery shop (Quan Mark in Willetton) to grab ingredients, browse snacks and drinks, and of course pick up my favorite kimchi — because yes, I’m a “kimchi boy.” Then we stop by my favorite cake shop to grab a cake for the 1K celebration, and after that it’s home time: I prep garlic, tofu, mushrooms, onion, spring onion, beef, potato, and the sauce ingredients. Lu cooks gochujang jjigae using a recipe we linked (we followed it roughly), but we also share our personal tweaks — like putting onion in earlier so it cooks longer and flavors the soup, and using less fish sauce because I’m a bit icky with it. We finish the night eating jjigae, trying cake, and asking you to like, comment, subscribe — and tell us what wedding content you want to see next.
