About This Video

For the past few months I’ve been hunting for an Nvidia RTX 5-series gaming laptop that’s actually affordable without feeling like a compromise, and I finally landed on one: the Gigabyte Aero X16. In this video I do the unboxing and my first impressions—what you get in the box, how it feels in hand, and why I think it’s a really solid “gamer + creator” laptop for the money. The big win for me right away is the design: that slate matte gray doesn’t scream “gamer,” it’s thin and light, and the port selection is awesome (USB on both sides, USB-C, Ethernet, the whole deal). It even opens one-handed like a MacBook, which I genuinely appreciate. I also talk about the keyboard/trackpad experience (RGB, tactile typing, and a trackpad that actually just works), plus my early thoughts on the display. It’s a high refresh, high-res panel, but the matte coating can wash out depth at certain angles in bright lighting—then in a darker room it looks absolutely pristine. Performance has met my expectations so far: after letting Windows 11 settle with updates and idle time, it’s been buttery smooth, and Gigabyte’s AI assistant makes it easy to switch into a “brakes off” gaming mode. The trade-offs are real but reasonable—fans can get loud at full tilt—so I recommend a simple cooling/stand setup to keep any gaming laptop running healthy.
