The Mistake That Nearly Took Us Off the Road | RTW S6 EP45 Riding from Kaikōura to Akaroa turned into one of the wildest riding days we’ve had in New Zealand so far. What started as a scenic ride along one of the country’s most famous coastal tourist drives quickly changed when extreme crosswinds hit us out of nowhere, pushing the bike across the road and forcing us to fight to stay in control. In this episode of our round-the-world motorcycle journey, we ride the stunning roads between Kaikōura and Akaroa on New Zealand’s South Island, passing dramatic coastline, rolling hills, ocean viewpoints, and some of the strongest winds we’ve ever experienced on the BMW R1300 GSA.
