Finding a good test of word finding is important because we've all had those clients who really struggle to find words. I walk you through the Test of Word Finding 3rd Edition TWF3. What I like about this test is that there are two main components. The first easel you administer to test clients' abilities to find a word when given a picture, without a picture, and then verbs. Then after you are done with that, you get out the comprehension check easel where you have a field of 6 and you say all the words you had asked them to name and they have to point to them. This is thoughtful because it is making sure that they actually know a word. What if they were unable to name a word they actually didn't know? Then it's a lack of vocabulary and not a word finding deficit.
