SOS Approach to Feeding Website: https://sosapproachtofeeding.com I was talking to my stylist as she cut my hair and she told me about her daughter's struggles eating various foods, including foods that most kids enjoy (like pizza and chicken nuggets). That discussion reminded me that in grad school fifteen years ago at my outpatient peds placement I was able to watch the SOS Feeding Approach in action. I found it interesting then, but I got more into it when I had my own kids. Grad school was a long time ago and I never went down the path to become SOS Feeding certified, but I wanted to share about it in a video. Why? Because I don't think enough people know about the SOS approach and I believe it is super valuable and rewarding to families, kids, and SLPs. Feeding therapy for toddlers and kids is so vital and makes such a difference. If you are thinking about expanding your skill set and you have a passion for feeding, this is an interesting direction to go into. I've used some of what I witnessed in grad school with my own sons when introducing foods.
