I'm traveling with my kids all around the Midwest this summer (from my home state of Illinois, to Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Minnesota) in preparation for our big trip next year to Australia. I'm half-Australian and I've never taken my sons to visit my paternal side over there. We started small by traveling to Springfield for a night and visiting several historical sites including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Old State Capital, and Lincoln's Home. I highly recommend Springfield as a place to visit with children because there's lots of food options, everything is walkable if you get a hotel room downtown, and the history is interesting and engaging for kids. Even my five-year-old enjoyed learning about the past. LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE for more videos about traveling with my kids and speech therapy topics. Thank you!
