Hello everyone, this is Roy from Studio 9, and in this video I’m showing you a plugin that genuinely made my workflow super fast—especially if your music theory is not that strong or your “music ear” isn’t trained yet. The plugin is PRISM by Aurally Sound, and the main magic is: it can track almost any audio (mono or even polyphonic) and convert it into MIDI. Unlike the usual built-in audio-to-MIDI tools inside DAWs (Cubase VariAudio, FL Studio, Logic, etc.) which often don’t do a clean job—especially on chords—PRISM can grab multiple notes and give you usable MIDI that you can drag straight into your instrument tracks. I demonstrate real use cases in Cubase using ARA (Audio Random Access). First, I take a guitar loop, connect PRISM, choose an algorithm (like Grand Piano), and then drag the MIDI out, do a quick quantize (sometimes not quantizing can feel better), and start editing note lengths if needed. Then I do the most exciting part: I hum/sing a lead line (even if you’re not perfect in sur), PRISM detects it, and I drag that MIDI into an electric guitar VST to build an intro/interlude idea—without a MIDI keyboard. Bonus: you can also drag a song/phrase to find the scale/last note, and even convert guitar chords into piano chords quickly. It really works like magic—just be ready to manually fix 1-2 notes for a perfect result.
