About This Video

Hi everyone, this is Roy from Studio 9, and in this video I show you how I finish projects in hours when the client pressure is real—without compromising on professional results. The “secret” is my go-to electronic drum plugin: XLN Audio XO. I demonstrate how I can take the same mashup/song and quickly change the entire vibe just by auditioning different groove presets—house, hip-hop, latin, lo-fi—syncing them to the track in a few clicks. This is exactly the kind of workflow that helps when you need fast delivery (even though I always say: ideally a song deserves proper time). Then I go a bit deeper into why XO is one of my most favourite drum programming VSTs. The Space feature is honestly mind-blowing for me: it maps all the samples on your system (not just XO’s library), so finding the right kick/hat/percussion becomes super fast, and similar sounds sit near each other. After that, I show the Edit/step-sequencer style workflow—velocity, swing, offset, quick sound shaping—and the beat/sample combiner for instant musical variations. Finally, the export is the killer: I can drag-and-drop MIDI, one-shots, a full beat, or all stems directly into my DAW and keep the project moving fast.
