I’ve been using the Viwoods AiPaper for over 3 months now, and it’s honestly one of the most interesting productivity gadgets I’ve tested—mainly because it gives you that reMarkable-style, paper-like experience, but with full Android and Play Store access. The first thing that hit me is the design: it’s ridiculously thin (4.5mm) and super light (370g), with a premium feel thanks to the aluminium bezel. I also really like how quickly it wakes to the lock screen, and you can actually customise that layout, which I wasn’t expecting. In this video I go through what it’s like day-to-day: the 10.3-inch E-Ink display (Carta 1300) is easy on the eyes, battery life is great because it only sips power when the display updates, and the stylus feels genuinely natural. You get an eraser button, you can use the back of the pen, and you can tweak sensitivity/pressure which is clutch if you sketch. I also test the AI button features—summaries, optimising writing, meeting minutes, and even audio recording to text—and while it’s still improving with updates, it’s already pretty efficient. The big thing for me is integration. I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem, so I’m always thinking “how do I move files around without AirDrop?” Viwoods covers that with cloud sync (my.viwoods.com), Google Drive/OneDrive, QR sharing, email, Bluetooth, WLAN transfer, and even casting for presentations. My main criticisms: some apps (like Notion) could be better optimised, and I’d love a backlight for night use.
