Because coaching is an unregulated market, it means anybody can say they are a coach. However, Accreditation Bodies mean you can do a course, get experience and become a coach. In this video I will be letting you in on my knowledge of Accreditation Bodies, and which ones are reputable and how some are meaningless. The ICF or International Coaching Federation are the gold standard for coach accreditation globally and increasingly organisations are looking for people who have done training which is accredited by the ICF as well as looking for personal accreditation (I run Optimus Coach Academy which provides this training) Other bodies include the EMCC and the AC These are the main coaching specific accreditation bodies globally. Bodies such as the ILM provide coach training in their suite of qualifications however they don't have the same research focus or coaching focus and therefore they are not as credible or robust.
