In this video we explore common questions people ask about our ICF / EMCC / AC accredited coach training diplomas from Optimus Coach Academy. 1) How do I get my coaching hours: we match you (if you want) with a peer based on your availability so you can get your hours in. We recommend you do at least 4 sessions and work with a variety of peers over the course. We equally have people looking for pro bono coaching which we can match you up with as well as having pro bono partnerships which we share. Alongside this our business support means you can start to get paying clients (and we have trainings all about getting clients whilst you're training). 2) What happens if you miss a session? we require you to attend 80% of sessions live so you can always watch on catch up on our portal. If you miss more sessions we create your own program which means you attend sessions with future cohorts. We're always flexible and supportive which is why our completion rates are very close to 100% (at the time of writing they were 99% for 2025) 3) How many sessions do you attend each week? you attend 1 and you can move between the day time and evening if this works better for you. 4) Do you have any in-person meet ups? yes we have an annual event once a year in the UK. We also find our students meet up independently and we often ask in our community where people are based to support these meet ups. 5) What business support do we offer? we have an online program and a vault of training you get free plus we have 3 drop in group sessions every month : 2 x mentoring with me and 1 marketing Q&A. You can attend these before, during and after the training.. AND we run business days a couple of times a year on topics that our students have selected. We want you to have all you need in terms of business at no extra cost. 6) How am I assessed? both courses have a live coaching session at the end which is your formal assessment. We give you the competencies you're assessed on throughout the course and you get plenty of feedback and mentoring prior to this assessment so you're always well prepared. 7) How does accreditation work? this depends on the body and we support you with the AC, EMCC and ICF. For the EMCC we submit your details, for the ICF we support you when you're up to your coaching hours (100 for the ACC) and then help you prepare for your ICF exam which is based on the competencies, markers and code of ethics we use throughout our courses. 8) What happens if life happens and I need to pause? we allow you to pause and come back at a time that works better for you. Our goal is to support you so we're always open to pausing if that is what you need. 9) How do I know if I'm eligible for the L2 upgrade : you will need to have done a L1 ICF course or equivalent to be eligible. We can discuss this with you if you email into hello@optimuscoachacademy.com 10) What is a "paid" coaching hour? it is anything you get something back for : this could be reciprocal coaching, coaching given in exchange for a coffee or another service (or product), coaching as part of your work (as long as not direct line management) or coaching you get any payment for.
