Tolkien’s novels. Picking up after the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, the story follows three parallel paths. Frodo and Sam continue their journey to Mordor, guided by Gollum. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli pursue the Uruk-hai who have captured Merry and Pippin, leading them to Rohan. Meanwhile, Gandalf returns as Gandalf the White to rally forces against the growing power of Saruman. Frodo struggles with the Ring’s corrupting influence while Sam remains steadfast in his support. In Rohan, King Théoden must break free from Saruman’s control and defend his people, culminating in the epic Battle of Helm’s Deep. The Two Towers was a critical and commercial success, praised for its ambitious scope, groundbreaking visual effects, and emotional depth. Andy Serkis’s performance as Gollum, brought to life through motion capture, was hailed as revolutionary.
