Based on the pulp fiction character by Robert E. Howard, the story begins in the prehistoric Hyborian Age. The primary antagonist, Thulsa Doom, played by James Earl Jones, leads a murderous snake cult that executes the parents of young Conan and steals his father's masterfully forged blade.
