About This Video

In this video I chat through why I sold my traditional pedalboard and moved over to a Line 6 Helix LT. For me it came down to wanting a more compact, repeatable setup that I can take into different situations without constantly chasing cables, power issues, and “why is this doing that today?” problems. I don’t regret the decision at all, and I talk about the mindset shift of going from a board full of individual pedals to one unit that can cover a ridiculous amount of ground. I also touch on how this kind of rig choice fits my day-to-day as a working bassist—session, studio, and online work—where consistency and speed matter. Having tones I can recall quickly and send out reliably is a big deal when you’re tracking at home and delivering parts digitally. If you’ve done the same switch (or you’re thinking about it), I’m genuinely interested to hear how you’re finding it and what you’ve gained or missed by ditching a traditional board.
