About This Video

Hey there folks—this is Vlad from Review Outdoor Gear, and in this video I’m out at a beautiful campsite in British Columbia taking a look at a tiny little flashlight I honestly expected to hate. It’s the Wuben G5, a small aluminum light that felt a bit gimmicky at first glance (and yeah, it’s a Chinese brand, which I usually tend to shy away from). But after about a month of real pocket time, I’ve actually come to like it—quirks and all. I go over the big features that make it stand out: a 180° swiveling head with detents, USB-C rechargeable power, and a brightness “wheel” that smoothly ramps from about 400 lumens down to a very usable 2 lumens. On max, it’s surprisingly bright for its size (though realistically you’re getting maybe 10–20 minutes at that level), and on low it’ll run for hours—perfect for tent tasks or preserving your night vision. I also show the secondary RGB/color modes (including some wild flashing settings), plus the magnetic back that’s genuinely handy for car work or sticking it to any metal surface. Bottom line: the finish wears fast, the slider is a little too easy to bump, and the clip is both cool and annoying—but for the price, it’s a unique little design that’s been genuinely useful in my day-to-day carry.
