In this video I tested the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION, and I’m not going to lie—this is one of the coolest unboxings I’ve done in a long time. The box is comically long because you get the limited edition Lucky MSI dragon (a mystery blind box), plus MSI’s ATX 3.1 “power speeder” cable (with that yellow insert-check) and a rotating mini GPU brace. After that, I go through the big elephant in the room: pricing. This Vanguard SOC was set to almost SGD $1.9K here, and stock is rough. For testing, I paired it with a Core Ultra 9 285K and 32GB DDR5-6800 CL34, then ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Wukong at 1440p and 4K with different RT, DLSS, and frame gen settings. In raw raster and even RT Ultra, the 5070 Ti ends up very close to the RTX 4080—sometimes a couple frames behind. The “magic” is AI: multi-frame generation is where RTX 50 cards can stretch their legs, especially in Cyberpunk path tracing, but it also comes with the usual debate of not being pure raster performance. I also checked Blender and power/temps. Gaming power was around 260W, temps sat around 57–60°C, and noise stayed reasonable thanks to the triple StormForce fans. Design-wise, I genuinely like it—it feels like a nice cross between a Gaming X Trio and a Suprim, with that brushed, “Batman vehicle” backplate vibe. My takeaway: if you’re on older cards like RTX 30 series and you can stomach the price, it’s a consideration—but the price and small uplift vs 4080 is the main turnoff.
