In this video I’m quickly showing you my most “Christmassy” fragrances in my collection, and what Christmas actually smells like to me. For me it’s indulgent and sweet, with fruity notes like orange or candied/dried fruit (not just any fruit), a little bit woodsy, a touch boozy, and also that crisp winter morning vibe when the air feels cold and clean. I go through five perfumes that give me “Christmas in a bottle,” just in different ways. Angel’s Share by Kilian is the intoxicating, fancy one—woodsy, spicy, sweet, and boozy with a strong cinnamon note and cognac. Montale (with “snow” listed in the notes!) is powdery and cold-leaning, and it instantly makes me picture a super crisp Christmas morning with snow everywhere. Then I switch back to indulgent sweetness with Eight & Bob Nika No. 5 (dark, dense, honey/caramel/plum/amber with rum), Zadig & Voltaire This Is Her (cozy, creamy whipped cream and chestnuts—like coming in from the cold), and Dolce & Gabbana Devotion Intense (candied fruit, vanilla, hazelnut—delicious and festive).
