About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing three Dossier fragrances that feel really spring-appropriate, and I’m sharing how close (or not) they are to the designer scents they’re inspired by. If you’re new here, I’m Paulina from Random Lifestyle Vlog and I do a lot of beauty content, but today it’s all about fragrance. I also quickly explain why Dossier is so popular: their scents are inspired by well-known designer (and some niche) perfumes, crafted in France, high essential oil concentration so they last well, vegan, and much more affordable. First up is Woody Oak Moss, inspired by Coco Chanel Coco Mademoiselle—one I know extremely well because it used to be my signature scent at university. This one is clearly “Mademoiselle-based,” but to my nose it’s more like a slightly sweeter, creamier, more summery flanker, with patchouli feeling lighter and more emphasis on vetiver and that oak moss note. Then I talk about Fruity Jasmine, inspired by Dior J’adore, which I associate so strongly with my mum—this one genuinely smells like spring in a bottle, even giving me a lily-of-the-valley vibe. Finally, Amber Vetiviver (inspired by Byredo Bal d’Afrique) is the closest match out of the three: a gorgeous woodsy aromatic vetiver-forward scent with a floral, slightly citrusy lift around it.
