About This Video

Hello friends, Heidi here from Rain Country. God is good all the time. In this Monday “this~n~that” video I bounce around a few homestead topics—starting with a little testimony on a 50/50 castor oil and black seed oil blend I’ve been using. I had a sudden breakout across the bridge of my nose (very unusual for me), and on a hunch I tried straight black seed oil. It started clearing the same day and was gone within a couple days. After that I began using a 1:1 blend on my face (careful around the eyes—black seed oil can be a bit hot), plus on things like heel cracks, and I was shocked to see old scar tissue on my nose actually shrinking. I also share an update on how I’ve been using nori (seaweed) for minerals—grinding sheets into flakes and mixing them into my greens blend, plus adding greens to daily tea and to everyday cooking like enchilada sauce, spaghetti sauce, and soups. Then I get into garden plans: starting tomatoes and peppers soon (beefsteak, mortgage lifter, oxheart, and my saved “purple” heirloom), plus beans and calendula later, and some pruning and fruit tree cleanup. Finally, I address a question I get constantly: no, I don’t freeze dry and I don’t want a freeze dryer—even when offered one for free. I explain why I stick with dehydrating, why it’s important to research expensive equipment, and why “seed oils” aren’t a one-size-fits-all debate—some plant oils absolutely have their place.
