About This Video

Hello friends, Heidi here from Rain Country. God is good all the time. In this video I’m sharing five reasons I recommend making your own teas instead of buying those little pre-packaged tea bags, no matter what the label says. First, a lot of tea bags have been shown to contain microplastics, even in popular “organic” brands. Second, some of those organically labeled teas still tested with pesticides and herbicides in the tea itself, which was surprising to me—but it’s a big reason I like being in control of what I’m drinking. Then I get into the practical side: when I make my own blends, I know exactly what’s in them, and I can tailor them to my personal tastes and needs—especially as more people are becoming sensitive to certain ingredients. I also talk about how much money you can save buying quality herbs and spices in bulk (by the pound when it makes sense), and I share a few of my go-to sources like Azure Standard, Frontier Co-op, and Anthony’s. Finally, I cover how easy it is to grow some tea herbs yourself—especially peppermint and other mints—and I show the tea tools I use, plus some of my favorite herbs and spices like lemon balm, mullein, ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and more.
