In this HomeGoods shop-with-me, I’m taking you to a big HomeGoods about 20 minutes from me, and they had all of their spring stuff out. We start in the seasonal/outdoor area where I’m looking at planters (so many good ones that felt heavy and solid, not plasticky), cute pops of color for spring, and outdoor entertaining pieces like pitchers, trays, and fun cups that are perfect if you’ve got kids and don’t want to worry about broken glass. I also share how I like to keep my home mostly neutral, then bring in color through smaller accents—candles, vases, flowers, a welcome mat—so it feels fresh without redoing everything. Then we hit the art and lamp aisles (my favorite), and I share my biggest tip: if you love a lamp or a big piece of art, snatch it up because HomeGoods can be so one-of-a-kind. I’m an abstract art girl, so I’m always looking for oversized pieces and red-tag clearance finds—sometimes I’ll even buy a huge frame on clearance and DIY the art myself. I also show a few furniture finds, talk about being more picky as I’ve gotten older (does it fit my space, how does it make me feel, does it serve a purpose?), and then I wrap up with a haul: the abstract wall art I grabbed, a neutral storage box for my bookcase, dish cloths, a super soft bath mat for my girls, and a sweet peony candle.
