Hey guys, welcome back to the ProjectDIY channel. In this video I’m doing a quick walk-around of the new wheels and tires I just put on my 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. Yeah, I know—it’s a brand new truck and it already came with wheels, but the stock ones were just “okay” and everybody has them. I wanted to be a little different, so I’m going to be selling the stock set and running something that changes the whole look of the truck. I went with Fuel wheels, part number D699, in a 17x9 with a +1mm offset. I like that +1 because it doesn’t stick out quite as much as a zero offset, and with the new Tacoma being a little wider, offset matters depending on where you want the tire to sit in the fender well. For tires, I’m running Toyo Open Country AT3s in 285/70R17, and honestly I think they look perfect on these wheels. The truck is still stock ride height front and rear—no lift—and I only get a tiny bit of rubbing at full lock while backing up, and I’m pretty sure it’s hitting the mud flaps… which is why I’m on the fence about keeping them.
