About This Video

In this video I finally knock out something I’ve wanted to do to my 2024 Toyota Tacoma ever since I bought it—remove the front air dam. I’ve had the truck for almost two months, and every time I looked at the front end, that big plastic piece just bugged me. It straight up looks like a snow plow. I was hesitant at first because I didn’t want to mess up gas mileage, but after reading up on it (and even hearing Toyota engineers admit it’s ugly), I decided it was time. I walk you through how simple the removal is: Toyota basically designed it to come off easily. There are nine fasteners total—10mm bolts (or you can use a Phillips screwdriver). You’ve got two on each corner tucked behind the air dam, plus seven across the front. Once those are out, the air dam drops right off. The big takeaway: put the bolts back in after you remove it, because some of them help hold underbody pieces in place. End result—100% better look, and I’m glad to be done with the “snow plow.”
