In this video I unbox and test the AZDome M01 Pro dash cam that AZDome sent over for me to check out. I’ve never owned a dash cam before, so this was all new to me and I basically walked through it the same way you would at home—open the box, see what you get, and figure out how it’s supposed to go together. The camera itself felt surprisingly heavy and sturdy right out of the box, and it comes with a suction cup mount, a pry tool for tucking wires, sticky clips for routing, a rear camera, and a 64GB SD card. I flip through the manual to look at specs like 1080p vs 720p recording, button functions, and features like loop recording, audio recording, and the G-sensor. One feature I thought was pretty handy is the parking monitor idea—if your car gets hit while it’s parked, it can start recording from the jolt so you’ve got something to go back and look at. Then I mount it on my windshield, run the power cable temporarily to the “cigarette lighter” (yeah, I’m old school), and do a quick look at the screen and video clarity, including talking through why a dash cam can save you in accidents, hit-and-runs, and other sketchy situations.
