Third year has been intense, exhausting, and genuinely life-changing, so in this video I’m giving you my honest review of three core rotations: Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Psychiatry. I rate each one based on the stuff that actually matters day-to-day—lifestyle, mental health, how interesting the work felt to me, the teaching vibe, and how brutal (or doable) the shelf exam was. I also walk you through what a “typical day” looked like on each rotation so you can picture the schedule, the energy, and what your brain and body might feel like by the end of the day. I’m not here to scare you off any specialty—every school, hospital, team, and preceptor is different—but I wanted to share what third year actually felt like for me in real time. I wrap everything up with a final ranking and my biggest takeaways, especially if you’re pre-med, about to start clinicals, or you’re currently in the trenches and feel like you’re the only one struggling. And yes, I added chapters so you can skip straight to IM, Surgery, or Psych depending on what you’re curious (or nervous) about.
