In this one I’m finally taking the GoPro out of the equation and getting my first proper ride filmed on the DJI Osmo Action 4. It’s a real “first day with new kit” sort of vlog — out on the bike, seeing how it handles the usual UK riding stuff, and getting a feel for what works (and what I need to tweak) before I commit to it for all my ride vlogs and travel rides. I’m also pointing you at the bits of kit I actually use when I’m out riding and filming — things like my Garmin Varia radar and the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt — because for me it’s not just about the camera, it’s about the whole setup working together so I can ride safely, keep the ride flowing, and still grab the shots. If you’re thinking of switching action cameras for cycling, this is the start of my real-world test: first ride, first impressions, and the beginning of dialling in a new filming setup for the channel.
