About This Video

School teaches us a lot, but it really doesn’t teach us how to study—and especially not how to build a study schedule that actually works for you. In this video, I walk you through my step-by-step process for creating a productive and effective study schedule, starting with the foundation: understanding your current study habits and learning style. I share the questions I ask myself (like when I’m most focused, whether I work best in short bursts or longer sessions, and how often I need breaks) because those answers are what make your schedule realistic and sustainable. Then I show you how I plan using the two tools I always come back to: Apple Calendar and Notion. First, I block out all my non-negotiables in Apple Calendar—classes, meetings, important dates—so I can clearly see what time is actually available. After that, I use a separate Notion calendar to map out academic deadlines like quizzes and exams, and to build weekly review sessions using the forgetting curve + spaced repetition (so you’re not cramming three days before). Finally, I bring it all together with time blocking: I integrate my Notion plan into Apple Calendar, schedule study blocks around my non-negotiables, and add 15–30 minute breaks to prevent burnout and keep my brain working with me, not against me.
