About This Video

Let’s talk about all the ways I customize my MacBook (without letting it turn into a cluttered mess) and the apps that genuinely make my days flow better. In this video I start with my desktop setup: a wallpaper I made in Procreate, plus a widget layout that’s very much function-first. I’ll be honest—widgets have been a bit of a love-hate situation for me, so I keep mine minimal and only use what I actually need to see the moment I open my laptop: Calendar for my time blocks, Reminders for pending tasks, Notes for a quick “inbox,” a Done habit tracker (via iPhone widgets), and my Notion widget with my key dashboards. From there, I walk through how I clean up and tweak my Dock (removing everything I don’t use), plus a few settings I always adjust—like Dock size, turning off suggested/recent apps, and setting up Hot Corners (I use mine for Quick Note, with a modifier key so it doesn’t trigger accidentally). I also show my Control Center/menu bar approach (minimal, always), and why I highly recommend ICE for organizing a crowded menu bar. Finally, I share the extra apps I’ve been loving lately—like a clipboard manager for writing papers, an eye-break app, and a file “floating shelf” tool that makes organizing storage way faster.
