Heat. Heat. Yeah… I’m as surprised as you are: I finally caved and reviewed a modern headless guitar for the first time—specifically the Strandberg Boden N2.6. I’ve spent 15+ years in music retail and played hundreds (300–400+) guitars, but these never really crossed my path in a serious way. I’ve always been a “classic shapes” guy—Les Pauls, Strats, you know the deal—so I went into this fully expecting to hate it. Instead, I tried to stay objective and just report what I felt and heard, no fluff. Right out of the box, the thing is stupid light, and the ergonomics make a lot of sense—especially if you play on your left leg like I do. I break down the swamp ash body, baked maple neck, birdseye maple board, stainless frets, glow-in-the-dark side dots, and the multiscale setup (it honestly feels like “Les Paul up top, Strat down low,” and your brain needs a minute). I also talk about the EndurNeck profile—yeah it’s weird, but not uncomfortable—and I demo the Fishman Fluence set with the 5-way and coil tap. Bottom line: I’m not selling my Les Paul to buy one—hell no—but if you’re on the fence and want reassurance, this thing sounds great, plays phenomenal, and I get why there’s a market for it.
