Some of the overgrowth was more than 20 feet tall — even growing right into the side of her house. To be honest, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her yard and her porch. Winter is coming, and that porch looks like it could collapse at any moment. I knew I had to come back, finish what we started, and make this place feel complete for her. When I knocked on her door, she lit up — you could tell this meant the world to her. But what I didn’t expect was everything else that would unfold that day. As we were working, her daughter pulled up… and just minutes later, she came running out after getting a call no parent ever wants to hear. This cleanup was emotional in more ways than one.
