Create a Watchlist: Here is what we created and used during the recent crash in March 2020. We’ve Included key information for the stocks we are interested in, make sure you do the same. We created an algorithm that ranks each company based on the data points that are most important to us. Think through your Next Steps, Highlight pros and cons of the stocks, Include valuations for the companies. In your watchlist, make sure to show where to buy stocks, where to sell, and the percentage over your target to see how close it is. Be Prepared Well In Advance: We recommend doing at least 2 weeks of research per company. First Make sure you understand the company and can explain it to a 5 yr old. With the share price, Look at the latest charts and technical analysis. Check out the Latest News for the company. Know what the stocks in your watchlist our worth, intrinsic value. Have a Margin of Safety. Look at the Future Growth, Compare the EPS Forecast, And the Revenue Forecast. Review Past Performance, Last Years, Earnings Growth, Last Year's Revenue Growth. When we look at the Financial Health of a company, we look at Cash flow, growth, profit, momentum, value, Debt/equity ratio. Whether or not the company has a Dividend or not. We research the management team to look at tenure. Lastly we look into Ownership of the company. Reduce Your Costs: During periods of stock market crashes or bear markets, we recommend reducing your cost of living as much as possible. This will minimize how much income you draw from your investments during a period time where they are likely losing value. In addition, this will allow you to free up funds to invest in the stock market at bargain prices during a crash. Stay Calm: Although this is easier said than done, remember to stay calm during a crash. Make sure to Focus on the long term outlook. Trust your plan that you created and execute it methodically.
