Hey everybody, what’s going on—welcome into Old Mountain Bricks. In this LEGO City update, I finally start tackling something that’s been on my mind for quite some time: turning that leftover corner of the layout into a proper nature area / campground. To do that, I had to “destroy” part of the city first—clearing out a big hodgepodge of plates, sets, and random stuff so I can actually see what space I’m working with and start thinking about mils-plates, elevation, and how to make this section feel detailed and intentional like the beach. I walk through the real challenges back here: the train track eats up space, there’s dead space in a few spots, and I’ve got to figure out how to transition from road plates into something more natural—maybe a dirt road, maybe trails, maybe water that snakes through the scene. I’m thinking A-Frame Cabin for sure, maybe the Sanderson sisters cottage, and possibly even the Tree House set (which is big, so if it’s ever going in, now’s the time). I also clean up the LEGO room displays, shuffle a few sets around, and drop new minifigures into the city—including a fun little Fabuland “meta moment.” Now I need your ideas to help shape what comes next.
