This buildable LEGO Marvel model for kids aged 7 and up features an iconic cast of characters, plus a host of authentic features and functions. The set includes 4 minifigures – Captain America with his shield, Black Widow holding a stud shooter, Loki with his cape and helmet, and a Chitauri warrior with a laser pistol – plus a large Hulk figure. The buildable Leviathan features 6 moveable fins, an opening mouth, a head that can be turned slightly sideways and 2 stud shooters. The Leviathan comes with transparent stands that enable the minifigures to ’fly’ during play and make the display even more impressive. For added digital fun, the intuitive LEGO Builder app lets kids zoom in, rotate models in 3D, save sets and track progress as they build. I am NOT sponsored by The LEGO Group or Bricks and Minifigures for this video. #LEGO

About This Video

In this video I finally knocked a Marvel set out of my backlog and did a quick, honest review of LEGO Marvel 76290 The Avengers vs. The Leviathan. It’s a 347-piece set that’s basically an “extra Leviathan battle pack” if you already own Avengers Tower (one of my favorite sets of all time), and for me it was an easy excuse to add more action into my LEGO City’s superhero district. I walk through what’s in the box, do a speed build, and then break down what I like—and what bugged me—about the build and the finished model. The Leviathan looks nice when it’s done, but the build is repetitive and those little bar clips/rib pieces start to hurt your fingers after a while. It’s mostly the same colors, not very technical, and it really could’ve used a better display solution—there are only a couple clear elements, so it barely looks like it’s flying. I compare it directly to the Avengers Tower Leviathan and point out the differences (including stud shooters on this one), then I cover the minifig lineup: Captain America, Loki (great figure), Hulk (MCU big-fig style), a Chitauri, and a surprisingly solid Black Widow with arm printing. My verdict: fun set, cool idea, but I don’t think it’s worth full price—I grabbed it at 40% off and feel good about it that way.
