About This Video

It’s time to kick off spooky season here at Old Mountain Bricks, and I couldn’t think of a better way to start than with an absolute pop culture icon: LEGO Scooby-Doo The Mystery Machine (75902). This is a retired 2015 set with 301 pieces, and I finally got to crack open a new-in-box copy to see how it holds up 10 years later. I walk through the unboxing (no thumb tabs back then—just tape), what’s in the box, and my thoughts as I build the van, the side build, and the minifigures. The build itself is straightforward and really enjoyable—no Technic inside, all system-built, and it goes together like a taller, more detailed version of a LEGO City vehicle. The big tradeoff is stickers: most of the detail is sticker-based, and my least favorite part is the split sticker section on the opening side panel because it’s tough to line up cleanly. Inside, there’s a bunch of fun little details like computer panels, a cassette tape, a map sticker, and of course the giant sandwich for Shaggy and Scooby. I also cover the minifigures (Shaggy, Fred, a zombie, and Scooby-Doo) plus the “tree character” side build. Overall, even with the sticker-heavy design, I’m happy with it—this van is going to look awesome rolling around in my LEGO City.
