Today I’ve got a fun one—big parcels showed up at the house, so it was time for a LEGO unboxing. We cracked into two large boxes (yes, a box within a box… as is tradition) and pulled out a pair of BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 sets: the Popcorn Wagon and the Antique Shop. The Popcorn Wagon is a little on the larger side, but I still think it’ll look awesome dropped into my LEGO City, and the Antique Shop has that “house converted into a shop” vibe that fits really well for a city street—plus it comes with a great orange pickup truck. I also opened up my monthly Bricks at War minifig subscription from their Minifig Militia series—this month was Marquis de Lafayette, printed by B3 Customs. The figure looks nice, but I was a little bummed there’s no leg printing. Then we got into the big one: I finally picked up the Modular Jazz Club because it’s on the retiring soon list, and I didn’t want to miss it for the city. I stacked the order during double points and grabbed some end-of-year deals too, including Avengers vs. the Leviathan (I wanted another Leviathan for my superhero district) and the Age of Ultron “Avengers Assemble” set for that classic lineup, plus the Northern Lights GWP diorama that I’ll probably save for a giveaway.
