A top creative gift for men, women and lovers of retro art and design, this LEGO® Ideas set challenges you to recreate the look and functionality of a classic vending machine. Build and display your creation, insert a LEGO coin element in the slot and turn the handle to release 1 of 16 capsules – the handle clicks when turned, just like the real thing. You’ll find the elements to build a collectible LEGO minifigure in each capsule, including 4 selected via a LEGO Ideas fans’ poll. There are minifigures paying homage to classic LEGO themes and sub-themes such as Castle, Paradisa and Fabuland®, plus minifigures of this set’s fan designer, space explorers and more. I am NOT sponsored by The LEGO Group or Bricks and Minifigs for this video. Opinions are my own. #LEGO

About This Video

LEGO Ideas has been killing it lately, and in this video I build and review the LEGO Minifigure Vending Machine (21358) from 2025. It’s one of those sets I love—where it looks like a real-life object more than a “LEGO set,” especially from a distance. I do a quick time-lapse speed build, talk through what’s in the box (10 numbered bags, paper-bagged window pieces, instructions), and then break down what I thought of the build process and the finished model. The big story here is the function. This is a working vending machine with a coin mechanism that won’t turn unless the coin is inserted, and it actually dispenses the minifigure balls and returns the coin. I’ll be honest: I’m not really a Technic guy, but the engineering inside this thing is a real treat—gears, rods, and a whole setup that keeps the balls moving and dropping correctly. Then I go through all 16 included minifigures (it’s basically like getting a mini CMF series), including new spaceman colors, classic theme shout-outs like Fabuland and Paradisa, and even the fan designer and LEGO Ideas designer figures. Overall, it’s one of those sets you really need to build to fully appreciate.
