This posable minifigure looks just like the one found in front of the LEGO Campus in Billund and has a movable head, arms, legs and hands. It also features an opening hat that hides a standard-size minifigure inside to inspire role-play fun. This up-scaled buildable figure will look great in any home or office and makes a meaningful gift for any fan of LEGO building or minifigures. About This Video

In this video I finally build and review the Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure (40649) from 2023—654 pieces of pure “LEGO icon” turned into a giant display figure. I’ve wanted to build this one for a while, and even though it looks simple on the outside, LEGO packed it with clever techniques, Technic structure, and a bunch of little hidden details that make it more interesting than you’d expect. I walk through how the build comes together in sections (torso first, then legs, arms, head, and the “control center” hat), and I’ll be honest—this one was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, so take your time. Once it’s built, I show off the posability: the head, arms, hands, and legs all move, so you can get that classic minifigure vibe—wave pose, sitting pose, and more. I also point out a neat technique in the legs where the studs get reversed partway up. The main reason I wanted this set, though, is the hat: it opens up and there’s a smaller minifigure “piloting” the big one like a mech, with printed control tiles and some gears you can spin. For display, this thing has serious shelf presence, and from a distance everyone instantly knows what it is—so yeah, I definitely recommend picking it up, especially with retirement likely coming up soon.
