About This Video

Have you ever wondered how to clean dirty LEGO you buy secondhand? In this video, I’m walking you through my exact process using LEGO City set 60182 (Pickup & Caravan) from 2018—because this thing showed up dusty, grimy, and just rough enough that it needed a proper reset before it earned a spot in my LEGO City. I break the whole set down (about 344 pieces), separate the sticker parts so they don’t get wrecked, and then use a simple sink setup with a colander/strainer and a little dish soap to safely wash everything. I show how I scrub pieces with an “extra” brush (not the one you use on cups), what to watch for with window parts and pieces that stick together, and how I handle sticker pieces and minifigs by hand so the stickers don’t peel. Drying is a big deal too—spread everything out on a towel, blot carefully, and let it air dry (I usually leave it overnight) so you don’t trap water and end up with mildew or water spots. After that, I do a quick sort, pull the instructions from the LEGO website, and rebuild the set—missing the kid minifig (and a couple extras), but overall the cleanup was 100% worth it and the caravan is absolutely the best part of this build.
