About This Video

In this build I put together a Robot’s Apartment inspired by Bender—because B E N D E R! is great. The whole point of the video is to get you comfortable with scratch building using hard-surface techniques, especially if you’ve mostly worked with foam, cardboard, or “soft” materials. I walk through how I use thin, rigid sheet goods (like styrene-style materials and other hard plastics) to make clean walls, panels, and little set details that stay strong and durable once everything’s glued up and handled. I also show a quick, practical way to add miniature lighting without turning the project into an electronics class. I’m using a single LED to sell the idea of a real lived-in apartment space—small light, big payoff. Along the way I’m sharing the tools and habits that help my builds pop: cutting clean, planning your layers, and thinking like you’re building a tiny movie set, not just a box. If you’ve been wanting to level up into crisp, hard-surface diorama work, this is a solid starting point.
