Smoked Thanksgiving Turkey Rcipes can be done in many ways. I have many Turkey recipes, and this is my recipe for Smoked Turkey. For this Smoked Turkey Recipe, I used my Weber Smokey Mountain to Smoke my Turkey. Before I put my Turkey on the Weber Smokey Mountain, I made a turkey brine with ingredients that i had available. There is no reason to follow an exact Recipe for a Turkey Brine. All that you want to do is make sure that whatever ingredients you use for your Turkey Brine are packed with flavor. I was able to Brine my Turkey for 30 hours. The injection that i used was a Tony Chachere's injectable marinade. I highly recommend Tony Chachere's Injectables. They can be bought at most stores for under $4 with the injection needle. Check Out Tony Chachere's Injectable Marinade: https://amzn.to/2DiPvUt I stuffed the cavity with garlic, orange slices, celery, apple slices, rosemary and oregano . You can use just about any fruit or vegetable you want to stuff the Turkey cavity. I used what i had on hand. You want to cook your Turkey without water in the water pan. Using water will give you rubbery skin on your Turkey. (In My Opinion) The Turkey Brine Recipe I used for this Smoked Turkey: * 1 Gallon Apple Cider * 1 Quart Grape Peach Juice (or 1 Quart Apple Cider or Water) * 1/2 Gallon Water * 1 Tbps Black Peppercorns * Dried Thyme (about 4 Tbsp) *3 Tbsp Fresh Oregano * 3 Bay Leaves * 2 Cups Kosher Salt * 3 Tsp Garlic Minced The Weber Smokey Mountain was used without the water pan. I used 1 chimney worth of Kingsford Charcoal that was about 75% lit. I also used 3 chunks of Pecan Wood. I cooked this Turkey between 350 to 375 degrees. If your Smoker is running hotter, that is great. I personally like cooking my Turkeys between 400 to 450 degrees.
