In this one I’m playing with the Petri Technique using three different alcohol ink brands… and honestly, the results are WILDLY different. I set things up the same way for each test so it’s a fair comparison, then I let the inks do their thing—sinking, blooming, separating, and generally being dramatic in resin. It’s one of those sessions where you think you know what you’re going to get… and then the materials go, “Nope. Try again.” The big takeaway is that “alcohol ink is alcohol ink” is absolutely not true when you’re doing Petri. Different brands behave differently in resin—some spread more, some sink harder, and some give you way more defined little cells and tendrils. If you’re chasing a specific look, this kind of side-by-side test saves you loads of time (and resin). And yes: the whole point is to experiment—so let’s go play.
