In this video I’m getting super intentional about my hair in 2025. I’m doing my chunky twists (not mini for me if you’re hip to my channel) while I talk through my 2025 natural hair calendar and the goals I’m actually trying to stick to. My biggest focus this year is perfecting my twist outs—more definition, more shine, and styles that actually last—so I’m testing a new combo: Pattern Styling Cream + Pattern Curl Mousse. I’ve tried Pattern in the past and my hair wasn’t too crazy about it, so I grabbed the trial sizes… but so far my hair is loving this combo and the shine is already giving. I also get into what’s realistic for my fine natural hair and my active lifestyle. Wash and gos are a no-no for me (I like them, my hair doesn’t), and because I’m always in the gym and running, I’m leaning into stretched styles and twist-based routines that fit my week. I’m also dusting/snipping my ends because dull twist outs have been telling on my trim, and I’m trying to do fewer extension styles since extra hair can dry me out and lead to breakage when I get lazy with scalp care. Then I walk month-by-month through the styles I’m considering—mini twists, crochet, half wigs, maybe a curly sew-in—while keeping it real that I might change my mind.
