Hey y’all, in this video I’m officially in my runner girlie era and I’m taking you with me as a true beginner runner. I’m training for a 10K using the Couch to 10K app (I’m skipping ahead to week 6 because I already completed Couch to 5K). For this run, the plan was super doable: jog a mile, take a short walk break (about 3–4 minutes), then jog another mile. It ended up being a cute 2-ish miles situation—nothing crazy like 20 miles, okay. I also share the running accessories I genuinely think are needed, like my running vest (pepper spray, headphones, keys, plus my license and a credit card) and my Brooks Glycerin GTS 21 shoes that were recommended when I went to a running store. I show my warm up and talk about how I roll out my shins and calves (my problem areas) using a tennis ball and a track baton. After the run, I pick up meal prep from Clean Eatz and try the Asian glazed salmon—plus I love that you can scan the meals into MyFitnessPal. I wrap up with my Strava stats, my mile time PR progress, and how I’m balancing running with full-body workouts for my overall wellness (because the glow up is not just hair, it’s habits too).
