Spring is slowly arriving here in Sweden, and one of the first little signs of the season are snowdrops. These delicate flowers always feel a bit magical to me, quietly appearing while winter is still lingering. In this video, I explore painting snowdrops in a few different ways while working with watercolor in my sketchbooks. Some paintings are kept very simple and loose, while others focus more on darker backgrounds and layering techniques to help the flowers stand out. Along the way, I also share a small source of inspiration from my childhood , the beautiful Flower Fairies illustrations by Cicely Mary Barker, which have always sparked my imagination. This painting session is part of my monthly creative challenge. Each month I explore a new theme, and Marchโs theme is Spring Whispers inspired by the quiet, magical feeling of early spring. So grab a cup of tea, your paints, and enjoy this cozy painting session with me.
