Summer was winding down, and earlier this season my family and I took a quick little trip to White Lake Water Park in White Lake, North Carolina. We didn’t want to go far, and even though it’s a smaller water park, it still had plenty to do—lazy river, motorboats, a kiddie pool area, and a splash pad for the kids that I really, really, really enjoyed. I didn’t even get footage of the splash pad because I was in the water myself, but it was such a good spot to cool off on a hot day. One big takeaway: check the weather. The day we went, a thunderstorm rolled in right when I grabbed my inner tube for the lazy river—y’all, I was like “man!” At least it caught me before I made it all the way around. They also have three large slides plus slides over in the kiddie area, and once Josiah went down one, he was done for the day—kudos to him for trying! We rented a small tiki hut for $40 and I was so glad we did because it gave us a designated place to sit and keep our stuff (and it comes with a charcoal grill). Tickets were about $18–$20, and it’s half price after 3:00 p.m.—we’ll definitely be back.
