About This Video

In this video I share some good news and some bad news from the middle of my wife’s cancer treatment. We had a halfway-through-chemo checkup where they did a sonogram to see if the chemotherapy was shrinking the mass they originally saw on MRI. The really good news: on the sonogram the mass was no longer detectable, and the lymph nodes that had been impacted looked normal. That’s a huge encouragement and it tells us the treatment is doing what it’s supposed to do. The bad news is we don’t get to stop just because it’s not detectable on a sonogram. Cancer can still be there microscopically, so we’re continuing the plan: two more rounds of the “red devil” chemo (the really strong stuff that looks like Hawaiian Punch), then surgery (my wife is leaning toward a double mastectomy for peace of mind), and then six weeks of radiation. I also talk about how chemo has crushed her white blood cell count, leading to an infection from a cyst on her back that had to be drained. On the channel side, I’m still putting out videos when I can, I’m thankful for all of you supporting my family, and I’m considering reviving my email list and sharing some low-lift updates and behind-the-scenes on a big project I can work on without leaving home.
