Trevor is back home in California from Utah — and of course, the first thing on the list was Filipino food. 🇵🇭 In this video, we head to Island Pacific Filipino Market to shop for ingredients, spend time together as a family, and attempt one of Trevor’s favorite Filipino dishes: Bangus Sisig. But we quickly found out why this might be one of the toughest Filipino dishes to make at home… The flavor is amazing, but the bones in milkfish are NO JOKE. Trevor wanted to make Bangus Sisig the right way, but getting through the fish, prepping everything, and turning it into something worthy of a Filipino kitchen was way harder than we expected. We also spent the weekend enjoying California, going to the beach, cooking, laughing, and making memories as Trevor came home for a quick visit from Utah. If you love Filipino food, Filipino culture, Filipino markets, family vlogs, or watching Americans try to cook authentic Filipino dishes, this one is for you. Drop a comment and let us know: What Filipino dish should we try next? And seriously… is Bangus Sisig one of the hardest Filipino dishes to make because of the bones, or did we just make it harder than it needed to be? 😂 Filipino Ingredients & Products We Used / Recommend A few Filipino pantry staples make a huge difference when cooking dishes like Bangus Sisig, Chicken Inasal, Lumpia, Adobo, and other Filipino favorites.
