Brits Try American Tuna Salad for the First Time…

We thought tuna salad was simple… then Americans told us to add egg. 🇺🇸🥪 Today we’re trying classic American tuna salad for the first time, including the version made with egg — and we weren’t sure what to expect! Is egg in tuna salad completely normal in the USA? Or is this a regional thing? As a British family, tuna mayo sandwiches over here usually mean tuna and sweetcorn — that’s about it! So when you suggested mustard, celery, sweet pickle relish… and egg… we knew we had to give it a proper try. In this video we make: 1) Classic American tuna salad 2) Tuna salad with egg 3) Served on sourdough and crackers 4) No butter (very hard for us Brits 😅) We compare flavours, textures, and decide which version we prefer — with egg or without. One of us was pleasantly surprised… the other wasn’t completely convinced! Tuna salad has been a staple in American homes since the early 1900s, especially for potlucks, picnics, and family lunches.
