We thought we knew how to make chicken salad… but according to you guys, we got it completely wrong. After trying American Chicken Salad for the first time, our comments section exploded with one question: “Where’s the grapes?!” “And where are the nuts?!” So today, we’re doing it properly. As per YOUR recipes. In this video, we recreate classic American chicken salad with: • Shredded chicken • Mayonnaise • Dijon mustard • Celery & onion • Toasted walnuts • And yes… red grapes As Brits, the idea of putting grapes into a savory chicken salad felt completely bizarre. We’ve always known chicken salad as simply chicken and mayo in a sandwich — nothing sweet, nothing fancy. But American chicken salad has a history going back to the 1800s, often served at church gatherings, potlucks, picnics and family celebrations. And apparently, every family has their own version. So… were we wrong? We try it: • On crackers • In a croissant • As a classic sandwich • And give our honest reaction Does sweet and savory actually work together? Is this like pineapple on pizza all over again? And have we been missing out this whole time? We genuinely didn’t think grapes belonged anywhere near chicken… but what happened next surprised us.
