Branch conduit work demands precision - and small inconsistencies can lead to rework, lost time, and added strain. Recorded at PIPELINE™ 2025, this episode features Jack Fisher, Product Manager on Milwaukee Tool’s Plumbing and Electrical team, sitting down with San Diego-based electrician Kevin Martinez (@_ksparky) to talk through conduit bending challenges and the jobsite research that led to Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL™ Branch Conduit Bender. Kevin shares lessons learned throughout his 11-year career, including the traditional trade-offs electricians face: manual hand benders for portability or larger powered solutions that add weight and setup time. Jack explains how observing branch installations in the field revealed workflow gaps - especially when running multiple raceways - and how ergonomic studies influenced this tool’s development. They discuss repeatability, AUTO-ZERO™ functionality, and how the M18 FUEL™ Branch Conduit Bender’s approach is designed to support more consistent ½”–1” EMT and ½”–1” Rigid conduit bends. The conversation also touches on the M18 FUEL™ ½”-1” Steel Pipe Cutter and Milwaukee’s broader R&D process - from jobsite observations and feedback to final launch. A grounded discussion on conduit bending, ergonomics, and how professional insight shapes tool development. 🔗 Learn more about the M18 FUEL™ Branch Conduit Bender: http://ms.spr.ly/6056Qv9bo 🔗 Learn more about the M18 FUEL™ ½”-1” Steel Pipe Cutter: http://ms.spr.ly/6057Qv9bU Follow Kevin Martinez (@_ksparky): YouTube: http://ms.spr.ly/6058Qv9bq Instagram: http://ms.spr.ly/6059Qv9bS Follow Us on Social: Facebook: http://ms.spr.ly/6059mpQbt Instagram: http://ms.spr.ly/6050mpQbQ TikTok: http://ms.spr.ly/6051mpQbv Twitter: http://ms.spr.ly/6052mpQba

About This Video

At PIPELINE™ 2025, I sat down with Kevin Martinez (@_ksparky) and our Product Manager Jack Fisher to talk about what really slows branch conduit work down: inconsistency. When you’re running multiple raceways, small variances turn into misalignment, scrap, and rework—and that’s time and money you don’t get back. We built the demo wall to look like art, but the point was simple: repeatable bends matter when everything has to match through the same path. In this episode, I walk through the jobsite research that led us to the M18 FUEL™ Branch Conduit Bender and why we refused to “solve” the problem by adding new tradeoffs. Hand benders are portable, but accuracy and repeatability can be a fight—especially with offsets, 90s, and parallel runs. Big powered benders can be effective, but weight, setup, and access kill the workflow. We dug into ergonomics with muscle-sensor testing and saw up to a 10x reduction in peak lower-back effort, plus features like AUTO-ZERO™ and bend memory that stays even if you pull the battery. Bottom line: we’re reimagining branch installs to keep pros consistent, efficient, and fresher over the long haul.
